Vote Description
This vote is on a engrossment of H3600, the House FY18 Budget. This budget allows for a NEW TAX on businesses in which 80% or more of their employees don't use their offered health insurance plan. This tax was put into place in the governor's budget and the structure of it remains in this house budget. Mass Fiscal Explanation
Mass Fiscal supports a no vote because we believe that implementing a new tax on businesses will only hurt our economy. Operating with a structural deficit while MA ranks #1 in the country for highest debt per capita is not fiscally responsible if no real solutions are sought.
