Gubernatorial Veto Overrides - 2015 HB3650
Vote Description
This vote represents multiple votes taken to override changes the Governor made to the fiscal year 2016 budget.
Mass Fiscal Explanation
Mass Fiscal would have voted 'no' on all veto overrides. 94 votes were taken in the house to override 90 different changes the Governor made to the budget. Because of the large amount of discrepancies in how each representative voted, and because no legislator in either chamber voted completely with the Governor, we have decided to score the veto overrides as a singular vote. All representatives who voted 0% of the time with Governor Baker automatically received a 'yes' vote, or, in other words, against the MassFiscal position. To score the rest of the senators, we calculated the median percentage of votes in line with the Governor's changes. Every representative scoring above the median received a 'no' vote and every representative scoring below the median received a 'yes' vote.
