Reject Governor Baker's MassHealth Reform Package Senate #68
Vote Description
This vote was on whether or not to reject Governor Baker's Amendment to the FY18 budget, H3822, to include a package of reforms on MassHealth. These reforms would start to control the unsustainable growth in costs which now make up over 40% of the state budget.
Mass Fiscal Explanation
Mass Fiscal supports a no vote because we did not support rejecting the governor's amendment. We believe with MassHealth making up over 40% of our state budget and more than doubling in costs over the last ten years, real reforms are needed. The current spending path is unsustainable and without real reform everyone will suffer.
