Pay Raises for Public Officials Senate #2
Vote Description
This vote was on final passage of H58, a bill that would increase the pay of legislators and other public officials on average of about 40%.
Mass Fiscal Explanation
Mass Fiscal supports a no vote because we believe this bill lacks fiscal responsibility. The legislature's leadership has recently voiced concern about not having enough revenue to balance the budget, however they were quick to vote through pay raises for themselves and their friends totaling an estimated $18 million to taxpayers.
