Numbers of Bills Considered at a Hearing Senate #10

Vote Description

This was a vote on amendment #5 to S.8, the Senate Rules. This amendment limits committees from taking up more than 50 bills in one hearing.

Mass Fiscal Explanation

Mass Fiscal supports a yes vote because limiting the amount of bills per hearing is a good government issue. Those who attend a hearing to give testimony on a bill will often times attend for the full four hour hearing and their bill will not have had an opportunity to be heard because so many others are being covered. This will hopefully lessen that chance if the committee can only plan to hear testimony on no more than 50 bills at a time.
