Vote to Increase Cost of New Soldiers Home Senate #52
Vote Description
This was a vote to override the governor's veto on requiring a restrictive and costly project labor agreement in H.3770, An Act financing the reconstruction of the Soldiers' Home in Holyoke. This provision that the governor vetoed would exclude roughly 83% of the construction industry in Massachusetts from participating on this project by restricting bids to fit union regulations, in turn keeping costs much higher than necessary.
Mass Fiscal Explanation
Mass Fiscal supports a no vote in support of the Governor's veto of a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) which would add unnecessary cost to a publicly funded project. You can find the full bill here: https://malegislature.gov/Bills/192/H3770
