Enhancing Penalties for Unemployment Fraud Senate #23
Vote Description
This was a vote on Amendment #3 to S.35, a program for improvements to the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund and providing relief to employers and workers in the Commonwealth (House, No. 90). This amendment gives the Attorney General authority to prosecute unemployment fraud by employees or employers, increases the penalties for fraud, increases the statute of limitations for prosecuting fraud to six years, and makes multiple counts of fraud to be prosecuted under the criminal enterprise statute.
