Adequate Time to Review Conference Committee Reports Senate #11
Vote Description
This was a vote on amendment #1 to S.18, Joint Rules for the 2023-2024 Legislative Session. This amendment, changes the timeframe between when a conference committee report is filed, and considered. Currently, it has to be filed by 8:00 p.m. and taken up no earlier than 1:00 p.m. the following day. This amendment shifts those times to 5:00 p.m. for the filing deadline and dictates that it not be taken up until 72 hours have passed after that deadline. This gives Members sufficient time to review what is in the final Conference Report before voting on it. Find a link to the bill here: https://malegislature.gov/Bills/193/S18
